*Sauyt* (armor) is protective gear worn by a warrior, designed to shield the body from blows delivered by edged weapons. This particular piece is constructed from interlocking iron rings (chainmail), with the chest area reinforced and decorated with metal plates to provide additional strength.
This exhibit serves as a visual historical reconstruction, created to demonstrate to visitors the weaponry and military equipment used by Kazakh warriors in the 18th century—the era in which Shakshak Zhanibek Batyr lived and fought.
Note: This item is not an authentic artifact surviving from the 18th century. It is a historical reconstruction, crafted based on historical examples in 1993, specifically for a museum exhibition commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of Shakshak Zhanibek Batyr.
