- Name of the exhibit: A copy of a historical document and the official seal of Shakshak Zhanibek Koshkaruly.
- Place of discovery: State Archive of the Orenburg Region, Russian Federation.
- Provenance: This valuable primary source was discovered in 1993 by Sultangali Ospanov—a researcher who, at the time, served as the Deputy Akim (district administrator). He located the document in the Orenburg archive and brought it back, along with other materials, to form part of the museum’s exhibition.
- Historical significance: The text of the letter is written in the archaic Chagatai (Old Kazakh) language using the Arabic script. At the end of the document, Shakshak Zhanibek’s personal seal is affixed, confirming his status as a judge. This exhibit serves as direct historical evidence that Zhanibek Koshkaruly was not only a valiant *batyr* (warrior) and military commander, but also an influential *biy* (judge) who resolved internal disputes between the Middle and Junior *zhuzes* (tribal confederations). Furthermore, he was a prominent statesman who conducted diplomatic negotiations with the Russian Empire and the Dzungar Khanate.
